Every Piece of Art Still Amazes Me!
I love the ocean. I love the beach. I love crabs, nets, sand, bridges and sand dunes that go on forever. This particular sand dune is in Myrtle Beach. My daughter and I were there filming a wedding. She took a picture of this particular bridge, and I felt like I had to paint it. There's just something about it that makes me feel like my toes are still in the sand.
As I said, I really like the beach.
You can find my daughter's photography website at http://www.4cornersphotography.com/ . Check it out. You'll see how easy it is to want to paint something that she's photographed!

My biggest artistic influences were my great uncle and my cousin Christine. My great uncle worked on a Clay medallion sculpture portrait of me. My cousin Christine showed me how to shade. The sun coming through the window on a candlestick. She said to look at the candlestick us if it was a photograph negative. That made sense to me.
I never really did decide that I wanted to be an artist I just was.
The advice I would give to other artists. Inspire each other. Find artists that fit and can carry each other along with positive feed back. That is what will keep you creating, painting and drawing.
