Every Piece of Art Still Amazes Me!
This is a beautiful framed print of "The Truck On Hiway 96". It's an 18 x 24 print, in a 24 x 30 frame. It's signed and is Artist Proof #3. It's a great print by itself. If you're from the Middle Georgia Area you've probably seen the truck. Here's the story of how this painting came to be.
The Truck on 96 started out simple enough. A friend told Cheryl that if she painted the truck, she would buy a print. Cheryl had no idea what truck she was talking about. But Stan did. He had known that truck back when he was in high school. Everybody that's from this area knows the truck. So he took Cheryl to see the truck. He thought it might be a good subject for her next painting.
After she saw it, Cheryl agreed. The truck is inspirational. Especially given the fact that its been sitting in that same location for over 50 years. Scanning through images on Facebook, you'll see the truck in the background of prom nights, graduations, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and many other occasions. There are even a few concerning holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Valentine's Day.
It is in itself, an icon. Everyone has their own story concerning the truck. It has had an impact, just sitting there.
If you or someone you know has their own story about this truck, send it to us. And then send them the print. You know they'll love it.

My biggest artistic influences were my great uncle and my cousin Christine. My great uncle worked on a Clay medallion sculpture portrait of me. My cousin Christine showed me how to shade. The sun coming through the window on a candlestick. She said to look at the candlestick us if it was a photograph negative. That made sense to me.
I never really did decide that I wanted to be an artist I just was.
The advice I would give to other artists. Inspire each other. Find artists that fit and can carry each other along with positive feed back. That is what will keep you creating, painting and drawing.
